Summary:
In the letter to the 7 churches in the book of Revelations the Ephesian church finds fault with them that they lost their first love. Paul’s prayer is one that we should take note of and see what he is mainly including in that prayer. We need to pray for others very seriously that the enemy’s attack may not hinder their walk of faith asking God’s protection for them. We are sometimes casual when we tell someone we are praying for them. Paul does not exalt himself but considers himself as the chiefest of all sinners. We have to raise the content and the quality of our prayer life.
Bending our knee in prayer is symbolic of our humility before God. We are the family of God. Paul is praying for granting His power and strength in the inner man according to riches of His glory. That is only possible when Christ dwells in our hearts and we are rooted and grounded in love, which they lost later. Paul’s sincere desire is that God would give them grace to understand truly the magnitude of the love of Christ, which is beyond human comprehension. He prayed that they might be filled with the fullness of God. Then Paul prayed that Christ, by whom they are abundantly blessed, may be glorified in the church. We are His glorious bride and shall spend eternity with Christ in glory. What a great prospect for a believer!
